Water Terminology
EWS (Emergency Water Supply) - The name of the originally approved and built water purification facility. It was designed to supplement the District’s water supply during drought.
WRF (Water Reclamation Facility, formerly referred to as the Sustainable Water Facility or SWF) - The same plant as described above with a permit to allow for the addition of up to 650 additional homes and additional growth to meet the 20% commercial use requirement.
CCSD (Cambria Community Services District) - The organization that manages Cambria’s water supply, water-waste disposal, Fire Dept. and other smaller local programs. It is governed by an elected 5-person Board of Directors.
Acre foot - 325,851 gallons
RO (Reverse Osmosis) - A technology used to remove a large majority of contaminants from water by pushing the water under high pressure through a semi-permeable membrane.
