Let your opinion be known!

Write letters to the Directors elected to serve on the CCSD Board. Let them know that ratepayers are paying attention and want what CCSD promised them six years ago – a proven emergency water backup system for existing users, not an engine for growth.

To make it easy for you we’ve provided a sample letter below, as well as addresses for all of the CCSD Board Directors.

Dear Director _______:

I am writing to strongly encourage the Cambria Community Services District to withdraw its current application for a “regular” Coastal Development Permit for the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).  The permit application should be modified and resubmitted to clearly state that the facility will only be used to provide supplemental water in times of impending or existing drought conditions.

Both the high operating costs and significant environmental impacts of the WRF make it highly unlikely that it will ever be able to reliably produce the additional water necessary to support incremental water connections. Use of the WRF should be reserved to protect existing ratepayers in times of drought.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours truly,
